This provisional privacy statement explains, at a high level, how Will & Estate Lawyers and Octagon Services Pty Ltd trading as Octagon Legal may handle personal information collected through this website.
This page is a professional draft structure only. Marked sections require later legal verification before the policy is treated as final.
This website is operated in connection with Will & Estate Lawyers, the dedicated wills, estates, succession and estate disputes practice of Octagon Services Pty Ltd trading as Octagon Legal.
Contact details for privacy enquiries will be confirmed once verified practice contact information is finalised.
When you request a free guide, we collect your name, email address and optional mobile number so we can verify your email and deliver the selected educational PDF(s). Optional email marketing consent is separate and unticked by default — you are not required to opt in to receive a guide.
We do not ask for detailed assets, relationship history, financial balances, legal disputes or confidential instructions on the guide registration form. Submitting a form does not create a solicitor-client relationship.
Privacy enquiries and deletion requests: intake@octagonlegal.au.
We may collect personal information that you provide directly, such as your name, contact details, enquiry information and information about your circumstances that you choose to share when contacting the practice.
We collect this information to respond to enquiries, assess whether a matter may be suitable for engagement, and administer professional services where an engagement is accepted.
Requires later legal verification. Confirm categories of information collected, lawful bases or Australian Privacy Principles mapping, and retention periods.
The website may use analytics tools to understand aggregated traffic patterns, page performance and site usability. Analytics configurations and providers must be confirmed before this section is finalised.
Requires later legal verification. Identify any analytics tools used, data processed, and whether IP anonymisation or similar controls apply.
Information submitted through enquiry forms, including the Start Your Estate Plan flow, is used to assess and respond to your enquiry.
Submitting a form does not create a solicitor-client relationship and does not mean the practice has accepted instructions.
Requires later legal verification. Confirm form processors, storage locations, access controls and retention for Start Your Plan enquiries.
This website is not currently positioned as a secure document exchange portal. Please do not upload or send highly sensitive documents unless the practice specifically requests a secure method.
If document upload functionality is introduced later, this section will be updated to explain how those files are stored and protected.
Requires later legal verification. If document upload is enabled later, specify permitted file types, security controls, retention and deletion processes.
Website hosting, email, CRM or other service providers may process information in Australia or overseas. Any overseas disclosure arrangements must be identified and assessed before this policy is finalised.
